Streets

The transportation section of Public Works covers a variety of services and a multiple transportation modes. Any service provided on the locally owned* streets or in the rights-of-way is most likely provided by Public Works. Street repair, street sweeping, street and directional sign maintenance, pavement marking, and street lighting are the most common examples. Public parking is managed by transportation, including public parking lots, on-street parking, and design and management of the parking system (Planning Department shares responsibility). Various modes of transportation are supported including transit (through Lane Transit District), bicycle and pedestrian. No airport nor rail exist within the current Urban Growth Boundary. City services cover the management and planning for the  system, as well as the development of projects to enhance services.

Coburg is also a required member of the Central Lane Metropolitan Planning Organization (CLMPO). The CLMPO is the lead agency for regional transportation planning and distributing federal transportation dollars for the Central Lane County area. CLMPO members work cooperatively to set priorities for transportation needs. This process enables our area to receive millions of dollars annually in federal transportation funding. The Planning Department is staff to CLMPO.
