Brian Harmon

Brian Harmon, Public Works Director

Brian started working for the City of Coburg in June 2013. Since then, he has earned three professional certificates: Wastewater Treatment Grade III, Wastewater Collection Grade II, and Water Distribution I Backflow Specialist. Brian’s favorite thing about working in Public Works is “the team and variety of work we do”. The wildest thing Brian has seen working for Public Works in Coburg is a naked woman riding a bicycle down Pearl Street. From Harrisburg, Oregon, his favorite thing to do in his free time is to hunt. Perhaps that is why if Brian could have any superpower, it would be super sight so he could see things from very far away. Brian wants you to know that Public Works comes to work every day to try and provide the highest quality of service. “We want to make sure that you feel like you are getting what you pay for!”, he exclaimed. Brian would also like to thank the residents and City Council for supporting the Public Works Department, stating, “It means a lot to the crew members.”

Burke Hansen

Burke Hansen, Public Works Supervisor

Burke joined the Public Works team in February 2018 and has achieved several certificates in that time, including Wastewater Treatment Grade II, Wastewater collections Grade II, Water Distribution Level I, and Cross Connection Backflow Specialist.  His favorite things about working for Public Works are the “opportunities to solve problems and work with amazing individuals” and his wildest experience was when the department got a call to pick up an exotic animal that turned out to be a house cat. Originally from Newdale, Idaho, Burke now enjoys spending his free time with his family and working on projects in his garage. If he could choose any superpower, it would be to control time so he would never be late. Burke wants you to know, “as a Public Works Department, we strive to serve the City and its residents with professionalism and respect. We look forward to future growth not only as a department, but personally. Never hesitate to call us with any questions or concerns, we love to hear from the community and look forward to building great relationships for years to come!” If you see Burke around town, please congratulate him on receiving the 2020 Employee of the Year Award!

Ty Wilson

Ty Wilson, Public Works Operator II

Ty began working for Coburg in February 2018 and earned his Water Distribution I certificate. What he enjoys most about working for Public Works is working in a variety of fields and being outside in the summers. An enormous honey bee hive in a fallen tree is the wildest thing he has seen working in Coburg. Originally from Harrisburg, Oregon, Ty now lives in Springfield and enjoys spending his free time watching sports and kayaking local rivers. If Ty could have any superpower, he would choose time travel for financial purposes like investing in Apple in the 1980s. Ty wants to share that, “a field representative for the wastewater treatment plant told us last year that the clarity of our treated wastewater is better than drinking water treatment plants he’s been to.” How cool is that? Ty also wants to mention, Go Ducks!

Grant Richardson

Grant Richardson, Public Works Operator/Utility Worker

In February 2019, Grant started with the Public Works Department. The wildest thing he’ seen was the 2020 summer wildfires and his favorite thing about working here is being able to work with a great group of guys and interacting with the community’s residents. From Harrisburg, Oregon, Grant enjoys hanging out with his wife and skiing or snowboarding in the winter. Grant wishes he had the ability to slow time, “that way I could enjoy more moments thoroughly.” He thinks it is important for people to remember that Public Works are human too, “we’re out here every day giving our best and we appreciate kind words and compliments when people see us.” Next time you see Grant, throw him a wave or thumbs up!

Jacob Suttles

Jacob Suttles, Utility Worker

Jacob started working with the City in September 2020. The wildest thing he’s seen so far is a giant tree that had fallen over at the corner of Skinner and Pearl. From Harrisburg, Oregon, his favorite thing about working in Public Works is “the crew I work with and that everyday I am doing something different.” Are you picking up on a theme here? Jacob likes to fish, hunt and spend his free time outside. He would choose flying as his superpower so he could get places faster.

Dax Wilson

Dax Wilson, Utility Worker

Dax Wilson started in Public Works for Coburg in 2022. He grew up in Harrisburg where he has spent most of his life. Dax was a star athlete in High School and love to fish and watch football.
